Oda is shit at giving a clear distinction between haki, he likes the vagueness. It is advantageous for him to not give a clear cut system because for one, that gives him room to add more shit in later.
Looking at these Katakuri panels, Luffy winning is a crime. Luffy did nothing but get his rubber ass beat lmfao
Atleast Katakuri never lost either. Stalemate at best.

What about this haki expert

Same lightning than in the Katakuri fight, this is armament haki.
And on the opposite:

Very thin, but still AdvCoc.
Armament haki too, Gear 5 uses both haki forms.

We could discuss that conqueror's coating is being used in that instance too (we can't tell) but now why isn't it represented would be the question.

Oda makes it extremely obvious when it's conqueror's coating. The moment you doubt, it's armament haki that is represented.

Yes. Listen to this man and let Loda breathe. Like is it so hard to admit that the overwanked mangaka fucked up here? AdCoC is basically CoA but better, and is too visually similar to tell which of these two are being used.

It also creates more discussion and drama, which keeps retention on his Manga and draws eyes on One Piss. Loda's a business man 1st and foremost guys. He's purposefully making things difficult.

Maybe it's not Oda who needed the eye surgery.

Luffy vs Katakuri was amongst the worst cases of plot armour when it comes to punishment, up there with Lucci vs Luffy and Kaido vs Luffy.

There is only so much a villain can beat the shit out of you. You keep bleeding buckets in a massive beatdown, but don't stay down cause the author has your back lmao.

I am talking about Kaido, not Rufu though.

And Kaido used AdvCoC before and after, he had absolutely no reason to use a vastly inferior technique (just CoA) against the strongest foe he had ever faced and that was as is almost unable to injury.

Katakuri proved himself superior in every regard lol. Well my interpretation is that Luffy never won, Kat was standing over his unconscious body in the end. Katakuri just happily wanted Luffy to win because he was moved by his demeanor. Also, stabbing himself is way more of a nerf than a fodder stabbing Luffy.
Edit: Didn’t mean flampe stabbing Luffy but you get the picture. Katakuri also dropped his trident after nerfing himself which is just the chaddest thing a villain could do.
