Clownda failed massively with Haki as a power system.
1100 chapters in and we still can't differentiate b/w CoA and CoC due to shitty visual effects.
Right now with how fucked this power system is, the best way oda can make a difference in CoA and CoC is by having fodders around every fight and have them KO + lightening effect whenever AdCoC is used with an attack. If they don't collapse then its not adcoc.
He should've just kept devil fruits as the primary system and incorporated the already existing counter(seastone) in different characters arsenal.

Seastone isn't as common as when needed to counter characters like Law, Blackbeard, Akainu, Boa Hancock etc. Even with seastone you can't counter Kizaru, even with observatiob haki his speed can be a pain to deal with forget facing him without an ability like that
I see in general haki as OP version of ki energy. I still think next stage CoC should have been an empowerment to CoA and CoO but not both simoltanously.
