Aside from the God Valley incident, Roger begged WB for Oden and then the only other Emperor he "fought" was Big Mom, for the Road Poneglpyh which he may have just stolen anyway instead of beating her. His PK journey seems far easier relative to Luffy's journey.

Not easier but they did things too early, they were strong enough already and didn't need any timeskip.
