He just cant stop and wont stop! I saw another comment from his editors lately or w/e that they can't criticise him, 2nd or 3rd time I've seen them say that now and they even said that hes so addicted to working on the manga, they have to drag him away fom his desk and it takes up to 7 of them to do it!
Oda is legit addicted beyond words at this point, its not healthy and its ruining his health. Its not even just a joke anymore or exaggeration. Japanese work ethic is just far too extreme too.

I'm sure theres part of him that is desperate for him to provide for his family as much as possible too ofc, especially his daughters and their future grandchildren too potentially. He's probably thinking very far into the future as the Japanese love to do too or even any decent parent/father ofc.
He's probably got that Walter White mentality of desperately trying to make sure his family can survive without him, that they're taken care of for the rest of their lifetimes and it doesnt matter what happens to him anymore, as long as they're secure/safe too.
I may be giving him too much credit though, who knows lol.
