Targeting civilians was their strategy

They know they can never defeat the IDF, so they choose to target defenseless civilians instead, probably in an attempt to do as much damage.

Also, they wanted to get hostages.
there is no such thing as a non-IDF civilian in israel. every single civilian is conscripted and trained as a combatant. this excuse doesnt work for them. it does for Hamas, since you have to volunteer to join Hamas, so when Israel kills thousands of civilians you know it's just bloodlust

You can't excuse the murder of hundreds of civilians just because they served in the military at one point or another (most of them probably never engaged in combat against Palestine)

you're excusing the murder of thousands of civilians because they're near hamas. who cares? if one country makes it a point to specifically target civilians i don't want to hear a word of whining from them when their own civilians are killed. it's your policy. what are you going to do, shoot some more babies about it?

Are u accusing me of excusing the murder of palestinians in gaza? You should read my posts my dude, you're clearly barking at the wrong tree here.

And I agree that Israel was the one that created this whole situation in the first place, but the cycle of violence has to stop at some point. What Hamas did is not justified, killing innocents is never justified.

this could be a way for iranians to coup and become free again

I wonder how many Palestinians have been murdered by the IDF in the last 10 years. Thousands.

I wish someone had the balls to say this in my community.

I would, but I don’t really want to put myself in the spotlight like that. I’m technically not even Jewish yet, I’m still a conversion student. I feel like if I said something, I’d just be pushing myself out of a group I’m already kind of on the edge of.

But there are others, like the rabbi, who are far more influential than me. Yet I feel like he kinda talks like a politician. Like he’ll play the middle ground and avoid saying something that would actually offend people. I guess he needs to make sure the board renews his contract.

But idk

I have a hard time taking it seriously when everyone’s upset about what Hamas is doing, while being completely silent on how Israel, the government which controls this land, created the situation for the war to arise.

The idea of Jewish chosen-ness is that Jews are supposed to be held to a higher moral standard by god. It doesn’t mean that Jews are better than non Jews.

Yet I feel like that’s anything but the case in matters surrounding Israel.

I genuinely feel like israel is a fraudulent Jewish state. if israel can’t abide by Jewish morals, it has no identify itself as a Jewish state.

Half of them are probably not religious so they don’t feel that pressure. I can’t for the life of me understand why you would want to join an Abrahamic institutional religion that imposes restrictions on your personal life choices. There’s other ways to find community.
