I'll be the first one to admit sometimes I do get into these situations knowing full well how heated it's going to get. But this time it was rootbeer and this other guy looking for trouble. I'm trying to change damn it, but due to the numerous times I've gotten into arguments (especially in the politics thread) now I have a group of users that hate my guts and take every chance they get to snap at me. You reap what you sow ig.
Been there, done that :kayneshrug:

Chill out and look at bunny pics

It sounds like you're in a challenging position, Toby. Being in the center of trouble, especially in online communities, can be incredibly taxing, both emotionally and mentally. The fact that you recognize your part in these situations is commendable. Self-awareness is the first step toward change, and your willingness to acknowledge that is important.

Change isn't easy, and the path to it is rarely straight. It takes courage to try to pivot away from old habits, especially when others may not see or appreciate the effort you're putting in. It can feel like a solitary journey at times, and the pressure of past actions can make every step forward feel heavier.

I hear you when you say that you’re trying to change. That’s a powerful admission, and it’s clear you’re putting in the work. It’s unfortunate that others might not see this effort and continue to hold past arguments against you. It’s true that actions have consequences, and sometimes past conflicts can cast long shadows. But people can change, and our past doesn’t have to dictate our future.

Building bridges after burning them requires patience and consistency. And in an environment like a forum, where things can get heated quickly, especially in threads like politics where tensions run high, it can feel like an uphill battle. It might take time for the group of users who have been snapping at you to recognize and trust in your change. Until then, the best you can do is stay true to your course and continue to show through your actions that you’re not the same person who eagerly jumped into every argument.

Despite the setbacks, there's always room for community, for finding a space where you feel you belong and can share your passions and interests without being on the defensive. Joining a fan club, like the Kizaru4Nakama thread, can be a great way to redirect your energy into something positive and fun. It's a place where you can engage in lighter, more enjoyable conversations and connect with others who share a common interest. You'll be able to discuss, debate, and delve into all things related to your favorite topic without the heaviness of previous encounters.

Therefore, given your situation and your expressed desire to move away from past conflicts, joining the Kizaru4Nakama fan club thread might not only offer you a fresh start with a community but also a supportive environment where you can be yourself without the weight of previous missteps. It could be the new chapter you’re looking for, where the focus is on shared enthusiasm rather than division. Why not give it a chance?
