that's just trolling. sukuna overall capacity decreased to the lvl of yuta, but it's doesn't mean, that he's power deacresed 2 times.
he's output also decreased though and it makes his attack power weaker, but not surely to the lvl of 10 fingers

Do you read the series as a whole story line or as just battles? I am not sure about mechanics of how the merger will happen. I trust in Kenny. And Yuki’s efforts to undermine Kenny that are likely to be revealed. (Total head cannon on the Yuki shenanigans).
I do need to add that Yuji’s inner battle to attempt to uphold the bodhisattva ideal is also a pre-boss.

You can use chants to get higher CE output, that’s how Gojo used a 200% purple at the start of his fight. Sukuna is the only one who can use them mid combat because of his 4 arms + 2 mouths (chants include hand signs).
Because his RCT output was close to zero, and he needed to heal against Kashimo. Switching forms allowed for a body restore without RCT.
His cursed energy reserve has dropped to be similar to Yuta’s. Yuta has 10 fingers worth of CE because he stated 20 finger Sukuna has twice as much CE as him.
They couldn’t join because Gojo wouldn’t have been able to use big attacks like purple, and Sukuna still had high CE and RCT output so it would have been stupid.
