Sanji stands side by side luffy against an admiral + one of five Gorosei
the difference is, though, sanji will stay at the end and won't run before kizaru stops

King isn't that much of a big deal compared to Queen, thats the matter here. Some people just loved the Sanji vs King idea due to his design and the fact he can fly, also nobody predicted that Sanji would get rid of the Raid Suit with such ease.
Queen was simply a bigger challenge for him and the representation of his family.
Oda still had the balls to make Sanji clash with King and fight him in a 2vs1 alongside Queen and to hint Sanji being a Lunarian due to his ability to lit himself on fire (despite of that being the case or not)
King aimed for Sanji more than once, he just went to Zoro because Queen had a beef against Judge and so against Sanji. So saying that King vs Sanji didn't happen isn't even true, Sanji simply didn't defeat him in a fleshed out 1vs1.
Also there are a few Marco and Sanji parallels throughout the Wano arc, and now considering Sanji might fight Kizaru for a while, things have became even more spicy, spicier than ever
