How are AIs gonna make an impact in the art industry ?

Do you think that art is pointless and fills up the void of our lives ??

What do you think about art therapy ? a scam or a discovery ?

What is the best kind of art ? If you answer none or cinema, you're a loser. You must choose !

What are your favorites pieces of arts ?

What did you recently discover ?

Do you go to exhibitions ? Did you like one recently ?

Would you enjoy your favorite art the same if you knew its creators are criminals ?

Why aren't you an artist ?

When should art become free ? Should artists even get paid ?

AI is going to be implemented more and more, an assistant for backgrounds could be a good start. The problem at the moment is inconsistency.
AI cannot create a character from nothing and keep it consistent, but we're almost there.
Art is one of the thigns that makes us humans, but the digital shift has happened and it will revolutionise the world in ways that we have not forecasted.
Children don't learn to write, how can they learn to draw.

My favourites pieces of art are many, my top is the Pietร  of Michelangelo.

Simply perfect.

1) Do you think that art is pointless and fills up the void of our lives??
Not pointless since art serve to fill up our lives

2) What is the best kind of art ? If you answer none or cinema, you're a loser. You must choose
I dont think that one of the 7 arts are better than the other 6. But I prefer music and arts involving narrative (books, theatre, movies etc) than the others.

3) What are your favorites pieces of arts?
I believe my favorite music is Chaconne, Partita N. 2 from Bach
My favorite book is Don Quijote

4)Would you enjoy your favorite art the same if you knew its creators are criminals?
Yes

5)Why aren't you an artist?
Not talent enough to make something I really appreciate

6)When should art become free? Should artists even get paid?
Yes, they should get paid. If Shakespeare hadn't been paid he wouldn't make his works. Basically all artists lol

I am a brainlet and cannot get into Don quijote.
Get bored always at the Taverna where he meets dulcinea.

Art is important and can be powerful, but it can also just be dumb entertainment. I think AI is a net negative for art overall and should be regulated before the entire internet becomes an ai generated slop fest. I draw some, but I suck ass right now, hoping to get better in the future. Artists should absolutely be paid for their work. I can enjoy the art of a criminal, but only if that art isn't endorsing criminal behavior. I still like MJ's music despite all the allegations

I'd say that AI art is art

But I don't think AI art can be judged by the same metrics as conventional art. You can't just spend 5 minutes instructing a program to generate an image and then claim that you are creating art on the same tier as someone who spends hours upon hours skillfully crafting an image.

While an AI generated image can be pretty, its never going to have the same inherent value as a human created art piece. An AI generated image doesn't have the same intentionality as a human created one. When people draw things, they are intelligently creating work to convey a particular meaning. AI generated art often fails to have this because the actual creation of the work is mostly done by a computer program and not a human.

What I think is good AI art is art where the AI takes a backseat to the human elements.

A good example of this is Glorb:

Glorb uses AI to have his songs sung in the voices of the spongebob characters. But its evident to anyone who sees this that this song is written by an actual human. This video was created by a person.

This is good art imo because it actually takes effort and isn't just randomized computer noise

Cinema/TV shows are my favorite form of art seeing all the story lines tie together seeing how characters grow and develop seeing the cinematography and the choreography of each scene the emotions on an actors face and in their voice it's quite spectacular

I have been to a few art exhibits I find them quite boring tbh

AI is already impacting the art industry and because AI is constantly learning it will eventually get to the point you can't tell what's AI and what's not

No art isn't pointless art is what makes the world so enjoyable art is what brings people together

Whether it's drawing pictures with friends or sitting with family to watch a movie or even playing your favorite video game online

I never heard of Art therapy

My favorite pieces of art? Hmmm not sure but I really enjoy the art style in the comic series Saga

Yes I believe in separation of Art and Artist

A combination of lack of skill and lack of drive to become one

Artist 100% should get paid for there work but I think It's to the Artist discretion how much they charge it shouldn't be regulated by a big corporation unless it's an art meant to be drawn for that corporation

A lot of good questions. I wonder if I should reply to all of them or wait a little bit. Very interesting topic for me.

How are AIs gonna make an impact in the art industry ?
It really depends if people manage to get it regulated or not. If not, it might destroy some part of the industry if yes, it could actually be used as a tool in the future. My hope is that it gets regulated fast enough not to destroy to much the creative side of the industry and doesn't put to much artists in the streets.

Do you think that art is pointless and fills up the void of our lives ??
Art is one of the things with language that defines us as a specie. Art is never pointless, as long as it will touch our emotion, it will have a purpose.

What do you think about art therapy ?
I don't have the knowledge to talk about the subject. Music therapy for example, seems to provide short terms beneficial effect for people in depression.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6486188/

It can't fix a mental health issue, but it can appease it.

What is the best kind of art ? If you answer none or cinema, you're a loser. You must choose !
Cinema and a form of Art that wasn't invented yet.

What are your favorites pieces of arts ?

What did you recently discover ?

Would you enjoy your favorite art the same if you knew its creators are criminals ?
I would allow myself to enjoy it probably, yes, if said person faced justice and the person they hurted had enough compensation.

Why aren't you an artist ?
Because I can't motivate myself to work enough to train and get good enough. I will only call myself an artist once I can work without motivation problems.

When should art become free ?
Once capitalism is down probably.

Should artists even get paid ?
Yes, as long as money is needed to live or survive.

Magnificent.

As an artist, I am actually not against AI because I see it as the future, and I remember the past.

Back when I joined the internet, if you were still a preteen/teenager you had TWO options to have show your OC if you didn't have money or your parents/guardian didn't let you use their debit card for commissions.
1. Edit anime screenshots in paint (took hours, and sometimes wouldn't be accepted) or
2. Learn to draw.

A few years later, Gaia became a thing, and other dollmakers started popping up like Rinmaru and Dreamselfy and people finally could make their OCs.

A few years ago recent, Vroid became a thing and now people can literally make a 3D anime doll.
We also have better dollmakers in Picrew.

NOW we have AI.

While I don't coondone calling it artwork, it is another dollmaker tool like any other that lets creative writers generate their OCs or scenes from their roleplays and stories. As long as we find a way to regulate such a thing, why tear such a tool away from the kids of today that most of us would have killed for years ago? This is the future that everyone wanted back then, and yet now we let some butthurt snowflakes that think they're the next Davinci call the shots because they think the equivalent of going to a museum and mentally filing away art to amalgamate into your own style and creations later is 'art theft.'

Morons that would have us back in the stone age if they could.

As long as the AI is trained on work free of copyright or work donated willingly from the artist there is no problem (aside from questionnable practice in the industry like replacing bunches of artists by AI) with AI.

If that's the case, they go have fun with the tool, no one will be mad at you.

Now you see, I don't think it needs to have permission to be trained on.

If you go to a museum right now and go look at all of the old artists paintings, are you getting permissiont to add that to your brains memory and call upon it when you go to draw your own?

That's what AI is. There is no database of images. It trains by scanning these things over and over and learns their LIKENESS like we learn objects, and then tries every combination to replicate those objects in different forms like you would the object you learned from.

Going into philosophy-logic classes here a bit: When I say table, what table do you see? Philosophy-Logic says the minds eye sees a table that doesn't exist. One that is just suddenly put into our thoughts from what we know a table is, what makes a table up, and what our first idea of a table is. My minds-eye table would be different from the table your minds eye would come up with.

For AI, when you prompt a jacket, it goes through its memory of what a jacket is formed by, what makes up a jacket, and it tries combinations to fit your prompt.

Now apply this to learning from other artists as we do. If we don't have to get permission, then AI doesn't need permission.
