What Antagonist do you think respects or respected Luffy the most?

Imo I think the answer Is Akainu, not once has he ever under estimated Luffy in fact he labeled him massive threat to the future and tried like hell to kill him during marine ford

Both heard luffy and his goals out. By then luffy was an East Blue backwater village brat and shanks and mihawk world famous top tiers.
They listened him out and commented on his dreams rather than just telling the brat to fuck off.

Smoker is a good pick too, but I don't feel like we have reach the same height of respect with him as with a character like Katakuri. Smoker respect Luffy as a decent pirate but I wouldn't go as far as saying that he respect his status or strenght

The fuck… when smoker first saw Luffy he saw the pirate king in him and knew he had immense potential. That’s more respect than any antagonist has ever shown Luffy.
