They don't know what they're talking about. Nasjuro could just as easily send a few extra slashes at the sunny & Co, had Zoro blocked his first attack with a long range attack instead.

Both veteran combatants, knew the only way to stop the attack, and future attacks is to get in front of it. That's why they did it this way. These idiots are coping and are not thinking properly

And if i recall correctly, either the logue town swordshop owner or Hitetsu, or maybe both, told zoro about the Kitetsu sword hierarchy including Shodai.
