It's just how Oda has decided to draw since Wano, he also did both ways in Wano, we saw attacks from Kaido with ACoC leaking before the attack itself while Kaido had attacks only during impact where we saw lightning.

I really wonder how much a black blade going to matter cause like you said roger was in the highest tier and a sword user and did not even have one .
Now we have ethan who look like great swordsmen without one and the same for shanks and ray .
Oden who was power house did not have one either .
The only one we saw did not even power up Zoro as much as a normal sword did .
Just seem like going to be some half ass thing in the end .
