Character Discussion Sengoku & Sakazuki - A Comparison Between The Two Fleet Admirals

#1
Morality, Character & Ambition
Sengoku has never shown any ambition besides fulfilling his Admiral/ Fleet Admiral duties. He cares about upholding the law because it is his job
Sengoku ordered the Ohara buster call, did he do it because he thought it was right? That's most certainly not the case. To Sengoku, government orders are the words of god, to some extent "Government Dog" suits him the most

Sengoku was also involved in the killing of any pregnant woman in contact with Roger, likely among countless atrocities we are not aware of
His reactions to Whitebeard's last speech and Vegapunk's speech are also telling of what kind of a man he is

Now he might have gone soft with age, but that doesn't cancel the kind of man he was in the past

As for character, even though Sengoku is supposed to be the only CoC user, he sure was portrayed as a paranoid faint hearted soldier, contrary to Sakazuki being a tenacious and confident leader. In Marineford, this was portrayed clearly
Sengoku was a competent strategist in Marineford, but failed big time as a leader. Luckily for the marines Sakazuki was there to take the mantle
In countless panels we see Sengoku acting weak and indecisive

Whereas Akainu was raising morale and thinking of a plan to reverse this loss

When Blackbeard obtained the Gura, we see Sengoku shitting bricks
Meanwhile Akainu gave him the "I'm coming for your ass later" look and continued pursuing Luffy

Akainu even amidst this chaotic era is still as confident as one can be

When it comes to ambition, Sakazuki has his own goals, he is hellbent on destroying piracy. This is what drives him to uphold the law unlike Sengoku who is doing it for his office job. When Sakazuki bombed the Ohara ship, he did it out of principle.

He is as passionate about destroying piracy as Luffy is about becoming the Pirate King. Sengoku never had such resolve.

Akainu is the type of dawg to walk into the Gorosei hall, light a cigar, mock them to their face and even give them an order

Meanwhile Sengoku

It is no wonder that the marines under Sakazuki's leadership are stronger and more determined than they've ever been
Moving HQ to the New World is also a ballsy move that Sengoku would never commit to

In conclusion
-Akainu is a stronger leader than Sengoku
-Akainu works on principle and ambition unlike Sengoku who was more worried about the Government's approval
-Akainu is individually stronger than Sengoku
Basically better than Sengoku at everything

"B-but Sengoku has CoC"

He simply entrusted the buster call. Didn't make the decision.
We all know WG would have forced to Sengoku to do so.
So Sengoku is the government's bitch? Noted
He doesn't seem bothered here, happy doing the government's dirty work

He was also fine with killing pregnant women connected with Roger, lol

Aokiji Didn't kill any innocent civillian , let Robin escape and Akainu killed ship full of innocent people without a second thought.
Aokiji helped kill Ohara scholars, are they not innocent people too?
But yeah, I'm not saying Akainu is an angel, far from it lol. He did bomb the Ohara ship out of principle, no one forced him to do such thing
It just shows what type of character Akainu his, his ideals and sense of justice come first, and a lot of instances this sense of justice aligns with the law enforced by the World Government, but not always. And when somethings goes wrong, like the case with Doflamingo, he has no issues giving smack to the government
When it comes to obeying the government out of fear, Sengoku is the man

I wish Oda would give the Admirals the power that Admiral fans want them to have.

There is a good chance that the Admirals Logia and DF awakening will be on the level of ACoC, cause as of now ACoC is seeming like a must for top tiers.

You want the good guys, the marines to really be good guys and fight against the real evil of WG but if even after Egghead reveal they still stick to being Gorosei dogs then I cannot understand anyone supporting them.

I think there is a good chance that the Admirals (some) will revolt and defeat a/some Gorosei in the final war.

Kizaru is mentally disturbed with this Eggehad episode, Fujitora is already going against it and Akainu doesn't respect the Gorosei anymore imo. GB is a racist retard.

Five Gorose with 4 Seras will require quite a lot of top tiers to bring down.

Sengoku is a good leader , Tactician and have morals.
Akainu is straight up dictator kinda mf.
What morals? Killing off innocent pregnant women? Or ordering buster call to wipe out an entire island?

Akainu sure is an extremist of his beliefs and ideals but Sengoku sure is no saint.
That's what @SakazOuki's thread also means to demonstrate.

Yes, Akainu is more extreme but the navy did become stronger and better in his leadership, which makes Sakazuki a better leader overall.

You gotta give the props to Aokiji for facing Akainu for 10 days, being evenly matched with him and leaving permanent scars. The dude ended up losing the fight and a leg but he stood on business. Prime Sengoku wouldn't have lasted that long.

Minus Kuzan's Punk Hazard showings.
Yes, he is also a beast.
