What you are describing is what we call pinkwashing. This is the usage of LGBTQI+ symbology and ideology to give themself the image of progressist and pro LGBTQI+ people.

I checked this morning. I'm republican and normal. 
Politician are who are transphobe, racist, xenophobes islamophobic or sexist are not republican. And right now, republican are endorsing a man that is ALL of that. So no, republican right now are not republicans. They are far rightist who do not take responsibility for their value and belief system.

Your boxes to check to be considered a good person is too high. The only people who can check them are those lying to themselves and others.
