The Domain hasn't ended. Wonder how this interaction continues.
Could the Domain's effect be a "this is your ome chance for redemption or I kill you"? Basically Yuji offers you a way out (binding vow with him technically) or he uses his sure hit to end you, making the sure hit even more potent since he gives his oponent an option to live

Okay so I think Yuji’s domain is heavily based on the devils sword dance or the onikenbai.
Based on the hard rules that domains are based on the interpretation of a cursed technique, i think what we’re seeing now is the first part of Yuji’s domain which represents one function of the dance being to give comfort to one’s ancestors. I think this manifests in giving Sukuna pity and offering the choice to spare him if he can for once in his life grasp humanity.
If Sukuna refuses, i think we get the second part of the domain which is an interpretation of malevolent shrine which specifically shreds the soul instead of the body, representing the sad aspect of the dance.
I think Sukuna is done for no matter what he chooses, but Yuji giving him the choice to save his soul and connect to humanity works as a binding vow that increases its strength, since Yuji is going against everything to pity Sukuna.
I think if Sukuna goes peacefully, he’ll be able to live within this aspect of Yuji’s domain and find peace.
I think it also works well with the stories heavy buddhist themes
tldr: sukuna is done either way, yuji is giving him the chance to save his soul
edit: the zoom in on the buddha statue was definitely a major sign
