Netflix anime remake by WIT first pictures and cast

#41
The average OP fan for sure will watch, but I believe they are making this to target a new o public who just can't watch the original anime that is terrible slow and feels very old
Yeah also its much easier to get into a series that only has a handfull of episodes rather than something that has 1000+ or read something that has 1000+ chapters

What do y'all reckon is the ideal chapter to episode ratio for One Piece?

Definitely..

We are already getting live action and have good pre ts. This is wastage of money.
Franchise milking
If this is supposed to remake One Piece from start to finish, then it's gonna have like 500 episodes anyway :suresure:
In total, from start to finish. The manga is not finished yet so the current anime is bound to pile up more episodes. 500 is still a decent reduction. And if the episodes have good pacing and an engaging story people won't even notice the number of episodes.

Watching 500 episodes is still an absolutely long engagement and even with the WIT Remake, people will eventually be dropping out.
I know, I said 500 since I know the OP manga might have 1500 chapters in total if not more.

Why would they? People who started watching the anime in its early stages are also still watching it

I doubt that very much, seeing as they will be filling in with new scenes with information from SBS, vivre cards, covers, etc, the episode count will balloon out of control

I hate how amazing the VAs are for such a shit anime. Hopefully the current VAs get the role for the new anime
Why?

Most of the main cast is too old.

And this is a complete remake. They should get new younger VAs. Also get new soundtracks and especially sfx. I don't wanna here the old VAs without any energy like Franky's VA has been for years. It's painful to even listen. Sad too. And i especially don't wanna here fucking Super Saiyan sfx when they use haki or do anything.

Remake everything from scratch. Build a better product. Not the same mediocrity that we've been getting for the past 25 years.

Idc about the sfx and soundtrack. They should change that.
But the voices are amazing or atleast they were, I stopped watching the anime in TB(though did watch SA and MF).
The new ones will be compared to the old and I think it will be very difficult for the new ones to not be subpar in comparison. Which is why I said I hate that they were amazing. Wish they were as bad as the rest of the anime.

... I knew this in the back of my mind but I just properly thought about it due to the comment above.
If this doesn't have 30 episodes a year, it's not worth watching.
Knowing that Netflix is involved it will likely be 8-12...
Average 3.5 chapters per episode, very likely 400+ episodes for the complete series. That's 40 years bruh

Yea they were great, some of them fell off though, the cast is getting old and you can tell the quality isn't what it used to be. Franky's VA and Robin's VA can't produce these days tbh.

But man....I can't even imagine any other voice for the SHs, it would be so awkward listening to Zoro not sound like...Zoro lol.

I doubt we are getting the entire series. We'd be lucky to reach the New World.

The thing about East Blue One Piece is it already had an amazing pace, the chapter to episode ratio was like 2:1 IIRC, which is a perfect pace. Anything more feels rushed for One Piece, especially for the early saga. Dressrosa onwards really needs to be condensed, I think instead of increasing the pace to insane levels, some content should outright be omitted, there is too much irrelevant jargon going on in those arcs.

People will be watching it unless it's way worse than current anime. I don't see them just stopping it. Like, no thanks we don't want something that sells and is tried and true. Though I do know Netflix model prefers new shows over long shows since that gets them more new subscribers.

Depends how long the episodes are after op, ed and recap but yeah I don't think there is much they can do about East Blue to condense it.
Starting from Alabasta though they can do a lot.
And yeah Punk Hazard and Dressrosa they can just remove all the pointless citizens and children running and that should cut it down by quite a bit
