Still, it doesn't make sense for an editor to hype a chapter that doesn't resonate with the readers. If an editor is getting emotional about a particular thing that fails to make the readers emotional, then the editor has failed to understand the reader demographic.

If an editor's job include hyping the readers, doesn't an editor's also job include providing feedback to Oda regarding reader opinions?

The thing is the Japanese and the western community have different expectations. Many times we saw that what appeal to the Japanese does not necessarily appeal to us.

I partially agree. I still believe that a hype/emotional chapter in Japan will also be a hype/emotional chapter in the West/Rest of the World.

Yes, there will be few complainers here and there, but most people in OP fandom are quite in sync when it comes to spotting real hype/emotional deal.
