Yeah but you don't really have any idea how frustrated I am at myself. While I can certainly rationalise my suspicion in order to defend myself, that doesn't mean I'm making an excuse. It means I'm explaining *why* I got there. I'd hope everyone can see the difference between "this is why I thought this person was scum" and "it's this person's fault I'm scum reading them". I like to think I'm a pretty accurate reader of Nat, so yes in this case it goes double. I simply leave my self-depreciating rants to my PM, as I don't think it would be very pleasant reading. And of course in the reverse, where I incorrectly read Scum as Town, I try not to go too much in the game thread with the "I'm fucking shit" angle because it takes away from them playing well.
And, while I'm at it, I always make a point to learn to do better next time too. If I misread someone badly I will go back and read the game, and previous games if afforded the chance, to learn how to better read them. I don't think I've ever just been content with blaming the person for it and leaving it at that, satisfied I did my part. Fringe cases exist of course, sometimes there is simply no way to correctly read someone, but it's not for the lack of trying.
