I think its not about his title but how his title was handled and mihawk himself, i for one wouldve loved it if it wasnt just zoro going for the title but multiple others, but the fact is no one seems to care about it. It helps sell the title as something grandiose if competition is there.

Just look at pk, so many people are trying to get it and everyone considers it a huge achievement.

WSS title is clearly lacking in hype tbh. Cant really deny that..

Oda has treated Mihawk and his title very badly. But it does make sense why he does it. Zoro eos will not be on the same level as Luffy, and the people that he wants to surpass. Mihawk isn't as respected as the Yonko or even the Admirals and it really shows. I mean this guy wanted to test his strength against WB in marineford and was stopped by Vista....It can't be more obvious than that.


Mihawk might be able to cut almost everything and that's why he is considered to be the WSS. But of course, this doesn't mean that he is stronger than any character that wields a sword.

Poor example as kizaru was stopped by marco and jozu was stopping aokiji for a while.

Hopefully Oda already makes Mihawk go serious against someone like an admiral.

Man id love to see a nice fight between him and fuji, would probably bust multiple nuts in the proccess. Swordfights are always cool AF

You can be a yonko and wss. it’s the influence and territory you need to become a yonko . Wss is title of strength. If what you say is true Then why isn’t shanks or big mom wss since they both carry a sword?

I’ll give you shanks but I’m not sure about bm as she seems to be an all rounder, she brawls as often as she’s uses her sword Do not sure how to classify her haha

Again. Just because someone carries a sword doesn't mean he or she is weaker than Mihawk. This argument is illogical. Big Mom doesn't only just fight with Napoleon, she also uses her fists and mostly her DF. She fights with her homies, and Shanks? We don't know yet. But I'm sure his haki might just be the absolute strongest in the series. Both would beat Mihawk in a 1v1.

Nah b, while bm has a claim of being equal or stronger than mihawk, shanks is a swordsman through and through and mihawk considers him not worth his time.

Now that we know that Mihawk so far:

• has never been to Wano
• has never fought Yonko Version of Shanks
• Has not fought any top tier swordman
• Has never beaten high tier/Vet tier swordman
• Was easily replaced by WG new Toys
• Isn't considered a Great Pirate
• Wasn't viewed as powerful as Yonko by Kaido, Crocodile and Marco

And we also see that no Strong samurai in NW seek or sought WSS title except Mihawk and Zoro,

Why and how exactly is this dude WSS? Was it cause he cut something bigger than mountain or harder than steel?
We know to be WSS candidate you don't need crazy 1v 1 Ws just Cutting feats can make you a candidate for WSS title.

So what do you guys think, has Oda done justice to WSS title and Mihawk ?

Bring facts supporting everything you said. That can come from manga scenes, one piece magazine, databook or any other official information.

Hey man, it’s not about the titles legitimacy, I think even ndule meant it as if the title was done justice. And I feel like it has not.

heck yonko have people vying for their spot and the pk one right next to it.
Besides zoro no one seems to care about the wss title nor want it, and it does do bad thing to the titles portrayal and prestige if you compare it to pk or even yonko/admiral.

You can’t tell me you wouldn’t have liked it if zoro had rivals on his journey trying to get the title, it would elevate it more. Now it doesn’t feel as special as pk or even yonko/admiral. I feel like oda dropped the ball on that one.

tldr:I am not debating mihawks power or legitimacy but the way his title and it’s importance in the story was handled.

That doesn't make their strength invalid nor doesn't matter. They are at the top and no other person has been able to challenge and beat them.

Imo he hasn't, due to swordsman current feats. But that happens to every other strong people as well. Oda tend to hype everyone since post-TS, he isnt as brave anymore when it comes to powerlevel.

But since he's japanese, i believe swordsmen will continue to get special treatment.

Ya, i was just responding to Gojo saying that he left his bounty unrevealed but revealed yonkos, implying it would be higher haha.
I know he(gojo) is just heated about the mihawk disrespect tbh. But i feel like people are getting overly defensive about this, the premise of the thread is more about if the title was done justice within the story, and i dont feel like it was.
