I never said always. But I think egghead’s ending is actually very good. I don’t consider the opinions in this forum to be in line with the general consensus.
I agree. I was very surprised when I came on this forum after my read and saw the hate. This ending was a genius move and I saw that it was completely missunderstood.. even after explaining why.. people still called Vegapunk a dumb guy despite having made a 3D chest move.
Now I'm actively concerned if there is not a problem of media literacy in the fanbase but overall in our generation, when I look at other fanbase, it's the same thing. A LOT of people are either completely ignoring or missunderstanding the point of clearly obvious plot point and thematics in many stories.

Take a random example. Sanji asking for help in Wano.
Well.. people who read correctly will understand that this is the ending outcome of Sanji's character arc started on whole cake. Now, Sanji knows himself and is able to ask other to risk their life for him.
But people literally trashed this saying that Sanji was ruined by Oda, that Oda trashed on the character, that it made him weak etc.
It made my jaw drop at the time
There are a lot of example like that :
- People calling trash on Big Mom losing her memory > People forgetting that Big Mom was introduced with a very unstable mental state and with big time memory loss during her hunger pains
- People calling trash on Yamato's descision to stay > People not understanding that her character arc is centered around the notion of the freedom of choice and not physical freedom
- People trashing on the character of Vegapunk as a dumb and simplist character > People not understanding how human and complex this character actually is by being a representation of a genius missing the point about himself and rectifying the error at the end
- People trashing on the Gear 5 revelation > When it's actually objectively an amazing narrative feat that any good writer would dream to be able to create
- People calling out Oda for making Katakuri VS Luffy a long fight > WHen it's actually meant to be like that to represent the hardship of Luffy of leveling up to the status of Yonko
- People calling trash Oda for not making Sanji fight in WHole cake > People not understanding that showing him as a big fighter would negate the point of the thematic of the arc.
- People calling trash the end of Wano > When we got some of the craziest revelation most legendary moments of the New world. (I'm looking at you speech of Momonosuke as a new Shogun)
Depends on which kind of weed you are smoking. And the amount ofc. If you smoke the stoner type of weed you can‘t be toxic. In fact you wanna love everyone. 🫶🏻

We would be in the final war or last two arcs if Oda got his way lmao thats a HUGE difference and the community would be hype. Right now we are trudging though the beginning of Elbaf and it feels like a slog.

It's incredible.. When I don't like something, at worst I say "it's not for me, I think it's bad" and I move on something else.. but those guys keep coming back to the pain every two weeks... and keep polluting the fanbase with their hate everytime .. Like, come on..

Talk about this with someone who shares your views. Me.
The first thing we have to recognize, though, is that we don't get the bottom line.
What is a proper course of action to take? I think the mods would agree that if we want change then we have to represent such change by being role models. If it doesn't work, then we can say we at least tried. We didn't break rules or harass anybody or gatekeep this community, but we can try to lead by example.
Don't overreact. I think that's the first thing we should look at. Don't overreact to everything. This is a great thing to consider for all of us. What is happening all the time in the spoilers? Overreactions to samples.
By drawing attention to others and vilifying their behavior we make ourselves out to be on a crusade. We're not doing such a thing. Peaceful protest.
The most we can do is try to encourage a movement of maintaining positivity and to recognize that when we don't enjoy the story that it shouldn't lead to fights between people personally.
That's a place to start and nobody could stop us as long as we're not breaking rules.

A few years ago, I would have agreed with you. Sadly, there is a political reality, is that showing respect only helps those who have the power, never those who want to fight it.
I do show respect when I'm making long thread to explain the problems. You can see that HERE or HERE or with my pride that is the Leftist Library. But beside that, really, I can't do that, simply because we are not in a place where our ideas are received well but with rejection. So I must put a nasty face, it's not really a choice.
I'm a radical leftist friend. I do not believe in peacefull protest anymore. I know the reality of the domination equilibrium and it's not in our favor. Neither in real life or here.
Asking nicely to change the system here will never work. We need strong actions to show the problem. But I don't mind if you try. That will simply not be my position. (not that I have one anymore, I pretty much gave up on this forum) . If you succeed.. GG, you will have all my respect.

I promise you, worstgen is really not that deep to talk about fucking political protests or equating a bunch of trolls in an OP forum to real life problems

I thought so about the Star Wars fanbase too.. until they start attacking people, organizing themselves politically and got the power to decide what was acceptable on the streaming plateforms.
I will come back to this in a later thread. I need to explain this in detail.
Egghead was great up until the ending of Kuma's flashback.
Once he had the other Gorosei show up the pacing turned to shit and we got 20+ chapters that could've easily been done in 5-10 chapters without hurting the quality/drama at all.
That's Oda's core problem though and the reason why I really don't like to think about the overall ending of OP:
He is great at building up an arc, but hasn't learned how to stick the landing properly after all those years.
It was the same with Dressrosa, WCI and Wano - great buildup towards the finale and then failed to stick the landing properly (to stay in the metaphor: He had a great flight and was ready to land, airport in front of him, then for whatever reason decided to fly around aimlessly for another two hours and in the end landed somewhere in a field in a very rough landing).

Correct - Disney obviously listened to enraged fans, they are known for that after all!
Couldn't be that "The Acolyte" was a God awful show with horrible actors and a horrendous plot, that really nobody watched anymore, causing Disney to lose a ton of money in the process.
It's not like other Star Wars projects with actual quality writing and acting (Rogue One, Mandalorian, Andor) - which are also "woke" btw - are highly successful, right?
Why people can't accept that oda had ruin his manga? Is it too hard?
U only have to accept that for most of the fans here one piece had dropped, gradually and constantly, after the time skip
We are simply tired about this low quality, and we are sad because one piece were great back then
We still want to read the chapters? Is it incoherent? Ofc not! Because we are simply curious and we have been reading this manga for almost 30 years! We want to see how it will end!

So basically u are a fanboy who defend almost all decisions that oda taked in the past, even the worst, and u don't understand why people is "hating" on one piece in this forum and in the community...
Even gear 5 is an "amazing narrative feat" My god, my eyes...
That's basically what fanboys always do

Already mentioned it in the waiting room but it's also somewhat relevant here, what happened to Chibi is extremely fucked up!
TLDR AFAIK is Chibi Reviews got doxxed by Boruto fans because they were made at his takes on it. They brought up his family members and address, made fun of his dead brother and hacked his accounts and spread REAL CP from them whilst pretending he's a pedophile who owns and distributes it.
JFC they even shared photos of his brothers grave too...COMPLETE PSYCHOPATHS! These people need a long time in jail or so ffs.

Also on a MUCH more serious side note, this is EXTREMELY fucked up!:

Jfc that's so fucked up, sorry to hear youve been getting attacked too, had no idea about that.
Not being able to separate reality from fiction makes sense, it explains a lot.
Kinda reminds me of people who sign up to the army thinking it's gonna be like playing CoD and a complete ego stroking, adrenaline rush, power trip for them too.
