This was still one of the best plottwist in a JRPG game, which was especially centered about a fantasy world. Then you found out, nah, it was just our world civilisation being wiped out.

After that, I found out about Xenogears and Xenosaga. Well, now it makes sense how Xenoblade stories are well written like that.

Imagine if the yggdrasil is just based around roots surrounding a space elevator which is connected to the moon. That would be full Xenoblade lol

I've been under the assumption Loadstar (as in literally, "Load up, we're going to the stars" was some kind of spacestation designed to launch you into space/get you to the moon.

Yddrasil being a space elevator would be even cooler, IMO, because that means we get Giants in space.
