Luffy could be Gear 5 just sitting around and once he reaches his limit, will become an old man unless he does the thing he did against Kaido. Luffy didn't even use ACoC until WSG.

Neither did Luffy. No ACoC until WSG, no ACoA, no fa usage, grabbed Kizaru in giant form, could've turned him into a pancake or ripped his head off but didn't do it.
