Neither of them were scum before conversion, that line is there for Polar (who is not scum at that point) to tell him that his neighbor could be good or bad

He literally said earlier he thought Sundae was town, or at least implied it. I will give this reason credence (as I said wrt Fuji), but it's not good.

What, him coming out and claiming instead of just stalling for time until hes forced to is a good look on him. Especially if it would out him as Eve to claim. Like fuck off.
Also I've Luka keeps talking exclusively in terms of town/not town and rarely if ever have I seen him give a nod to the fact that there's actually two possibly competing town factions.
