You guys need to chill, if zoro start crying after beating mihawk because for him it mean so much (it is an impossible feat in verse to beat the WSS) people will use it to shit on him cause you guys are doing the same for sanji, robin without thinking far ahead of the implications.

Dont set zoro up.

His time Will come.

Zoro is just annoyed he didn't get booze yet and that can't cut down any giants (he also still isn't sure if they are minotorites)

Jimbei also thinks about whether to pull the oppressed minority move here or not, not sure who's more minority giants or fishmen

Luffy is just dumb

:kobeha:

Zoro would definitely have “the right” to tear up and cry after defeating mihawk considering the journey and hardships he’s gone through to get to that point

I think people in general know that zoro always tries to keep a strong front on the outside despite the ways he actually feels inside. Like we’ve seen zoro sad, upset, insecure, angry, etc. but most the time he doesn’t try to project it outwards
Like zoro now is definitely extremely happy for Robin even if all he lets out is a small smirk

While not crying isn’t necessarily bad the “problem” is zoro definitely considers being emotional a weakness. At least in regards to himself cause while he might make fun of others especially Sanji I don’t believe he does it too much. Him doing so in a show where were often told the opposite. That showing emotions and not holding them back is also a sign of strength too

Imo while zoro essentially holding back his emotions is very in line with his character I do think it’s an area he can and honestly should grow in. I don’t think it’s too late either same way it wasn’t to late for Sanji Usopp Robin etc to develop a bit
I personally would like to see more raw emotion coming from Zoro. Imo lowkey has subtly been building up to it with Sanji. Their death pact in wano + how hard sanji and even zoro himself was on his egghead performance could lead to shit blowing up between them

Even made 1/2 threads on how zoro isn’t just some heartless person

All 4 have the same insecurity
The insecurity of being a burden to the crew and not being good enough

Luffy honestly is rarely insecure about his strength the main times he was when he was a child, sabaody, post marineford were all moments where he didn’t feel like he was good enough. The ones later in life making him question if he’s worthy of his crew and becoming pirate king His childhood being a big reason he’s so tough on character like shirahoshi and momonosuke since they remind him of himself back then
At this point I’d say he’s fine and pretty much over it

Usopp while obviously not the strongest strawhat is also pretty much grown for the better. It being very much highlighted pre timeskip that for a lot of it Usopp started to feel unworthy and not good enough to be with the crew. That coming to the forefront during enies lobby
Now he’s excepted him not being as strong as zoro or sanji he can still contribute in ways they can’t and be just as valuable. Also realizing that luffy doesn’t pick members just because they’re strong but because he likes them. So while he’s not usually going to be in front of all the action that doesn’t mean he’s not willing to do whatever he can to help and sup

Sanji is/was an extremely self sacrificing character. Always ready to put the wants and needs of the people he cares about above his own. Because of that he so willing to give up just about anything even his life away easily if he believes it helps them. Even the thought of disappointing the people he cares about weighs heavily on him

And sanji himself realizes he has a lot of “flaws” and “weaknesses” that he himself is willing to carry his own plus more he was very much ashamed to get help for the things he can’t do. Him never wanting to feel like a burden on anyone else
All that getting very much highlighted during zou/wci. With him showing growth for the better since

It’s the same with zoro. While confident in his strength he constantly dogs on himself about being to weak and how every failure is because he’s not good enough. Even when the situation isn’t even really his fault
With Zoro always trying to come off as strong even when he doesn’t need to. To the point he can come off as extremely cold despite not actually meaning what he says. Zou being a clear example of him saying 1 thing but deep down meaning the other. Punk hazard being another example of him being extremely hard on himself that he projects it out.

The comment about Vegapunks death could also be a scenario of while there might be a bit of truth in what he says a lot of it could just be him projecting his insecurity of the situation and everything that happened in egghead

Say what you want about egghead zoro even if you think he did the best and was the mvp you still gotta admit man was getting shit on verbally. Just about every character friend and foe taking a turn basically calling him incompetent. Not saying I agree but it’s just what happened.
With zoro being hard on himself as is with no help needed I imagine he feels way fucking worse. So hopefully oda can delve more into that aspect of his character. I know people don’t expect much meaningful character moments and growth for zoro anymore but I still do so eh.

I feel like it should be obvious 1100+ chapters into the story but yeah zoro isn’t that isn’t the case

Just like the rumors for every other character him being some cold calculated demon is just that a rumor. Sure to characters that don’t actually know them they can seem true just like with law or Jinbe etc but the point is they

The whole point of his introduction is to prove that shit wrong. That’s the whole reason luffy decided that he wanted him to join

Also zoro word is not law. No matter how logical and emotionless he tries to come off in certain situations a lot of the times even he himself doesn’t fully agree with what he says lol

What zoro says isn’t always right and that’s okay because the crew is bigger than just him. All their opinions are just as valuable and depending on the situation any of them can take the lead or advise luffy/the crew
  1. He was wrong about not trusting nami and believing she truly was evil enough to kill usopp
  2. He was pretty calm and collected when robin left not leaning one way or another. Tho he was convinced she was an enemy when she lied to them about betraying them
  3. He was right to not just want usopp to just freely rejoin without apologizing to the point Sanji disagreed with nami to say he’s right. At the same time it wasn’t like he was cold to usopp or didn’t care if he rejoined. He just as much as any other crew member was waiting for usopp to come back and rejoin
  4. He’s straight up just tsundere with sanji. Despite talking all big about how they should just leave him and how the situation was sanji’s fault in his argument with nami he was just trying to hide his actual feelings. Luffy himself even calling him out on being worried

While confident in his strength he constantly dogs on himself about being to weak and how every failure is because he’s not good enough. Even when the situation isn’t even really his fault
With Zoro always trying to come off as strong even when he doesn’t need to. To the point he can come off as cold despite not actually meaning what he says. Zou being a clear example of him saying 1 thing but deep down meaning the other. Punk hazard being another example of him being extremely hard on himself that he projects it out.

Just because zoro can speak seemingly very matter of fact doesn’t mean doesn’t mean he’s not going to be one of the first people to try and fuck shit up. Wano being an amazing example lol. He was the first strawhat in wano and onigashima to start shit while judging other characters for doing the same as a gag. Man’s reckless as hell when he’s left by himself lol

Also to get it out the way zoro and sanji obviously don’t hate each other. Like if you genuinely somehow believe they don’t have immense mutual respect for each other and their strength idk what to tell you. Zoro respects himself too much to compete, bicker, and compare himself to someone he didn’t respect

Man’s also a softy
Characters that don’t know him thinking he’s just some cold monster don’t know him. If he was he wouldn’t get along with the stawhats. Mans a very protective guy, that doesn’t like seeing innocent people get hurt, and doesn’t like fighting people he deems defenseless

He’s also weirdly kinda sexist which isn’t really important it just really bothers me thinking about it
:sanmoji:

He a lil bit stupid too. Which is fine but similar to luffy he’s just kinda slow lol. Calling them dumb isn’t a negative they just are

All that being said that doesn’t mean zoro can’t be “demonic” like or smart or give good advice cause all that is true to an extent. The thing is he’s more than that. He’s not some Gary Stu invincible badass without character flaws. He’s not the only strawhat that matters outside of luffy because they’re all equally as important and that’s okay
