The world was destroyed two times during the two world wars. I can't imagine how One Piece world looked like before.

It wouldn't even wonder me if Nika comes from a very advanced civilisation with very high technology. The ancient theme is just a way to distract us from believing that OP world used to be a pure Sci-Fi world, with mechas and all that extra shit. Their wars were so severe that several planets were destroyed.

I'm really a sucker for such things tbh.

Funnily enough there are even theories that irl Earth was also once a technologically advanced civilization and it experienced a reset. I love this kind of stuff, too.
