After the time skip sanji became clearly more plot relevant than her. It's not that Oda made the time skip start with Monster trio together and Luffy claiming his dream in front of Ray, zoro and Sanji for nothing.
I agree that Nami at the beginning was more important narrative wise than Sanji, but right now Oda usually represents the M3 as the "symbol" of one piece, even kinnemin thinks about the M3 when he thought about SHs crew in general.
We literally had Luffy claiming to Sanji he won't become pirate king without him and shut upping Nami, we got Sanji being the one in role at Zou. Nami is the most important female character, and she started as the third most important one in the series, but it's clear Oda made up his mind after the time skip by giving Sanji more screen time, plot, relevance and statements from characters to how much he is vital for Luffy and their relationship.

where is Sanji then now in Elbaph? Nami is where the interesting stuff is happening

And if sanji didn't cook for them then none of them would have the nutrition to navigate the seas. This is kinda established in Arlong Park that every crew member is important

Ok cool. Now that you mention that realistically which one is more important. Cooking (which apparently nami is the second best chief of the crew and can actually cook well) or navigating the entire sea. Which one is more important to a pirate of the sea?

She’s important, no one’s saying that. But definitely not as important as Sanji. She is the crews common sense and big sister. She makes sure the characters don’t do anything too stupid and acts as a voice of reason surrounded by idiots.

That being said, that’s not akin to narrative importance. Take post timeskip for example, Nami has not had any of her own subplots, or anything that’s been reliant on her character, a stark difference between her and the wings who have both received much more individual sub plots and character development.

Sanji led the crew throughout all of Dressrosa to the point where the crew was called the Twirly Hair Pirates

Now obviously Zoro is the VC and more important in terms of leadership but usually Luffy is there so Zoro isn't doing much on that aspect other than fighting except scolding and keeping Luffy in check several times. That's why I feel Sanji is more important outside of fighting since he covers up for it with cooking and can be a good leader too

But yeah, Zoro is so many dimensions ahead in terms of fighting that they're both important and since Zoro is the better leader, he's the #2.

Point is Sanji isn't some bum with no focus, WCI wouldn't have happened otherwise

Zoro's lineage, desire to unite the samurai, and visit at the dojo were all discarded.
Luffy's personality was overwritten by Nika.
