There would be no point to BB if he wasnt the final villain. Imu already has been a villain in the 2nd World and he was most likely not the villain in the 1st World. The 3rd World will have its own villain.

To be clear I have no issue if BB black zetsus Imu but I think the lines are open to interpretation, both fit.​

The races being divided and easier oppressed as a result of that which they want to change, but Joyboy's action would bring forth primordial evil being.

This makes sense, since Blackbeard was teased from the start of the series as Luffy's foil.

Despite the fact that he barely got any screen time. He will be play a huge role in the end.

It doesn't make sense for this much buildup just for imu (a character introduced much later and not much development) to be final villain.

And this painting sort of confirms, imu was the central figure in the 2nd world.

I think the key here is to find out how the first world war ended and which side tried to accomplish what.

But those evil beings will take a side or be used by a side. I think its a depiction of factions with these monsters as the figureheads. We saw Imu against JB on the other side of mural but the Gorosei were not shown, they are part of that big black winged monster. The ship with the humans are the 20 kings imo.

As for ending of first world I think the death and destruction was so huge that it didnt matter who won. The Noahs ark carrying the survivors and the sea levels rising indicate that civilization was truly destroyed.
