I don't understand the argument about Kaguya tbh. Egghead will also be years before the end, as was Reverie. the difference is arbitrary. The only thing is that since Egghead, Imu can actually do things in the plot. Introducing him before the longest arc in OP where he does nothing and has 0 involvement is just weird. Like, would it have been better to intro Imu randomly in Drum Island and just not mention him again for 20 years?

I saw a theory about shank

That every HK has a tattoo on their left arm. This is a marker for the abyss teleportation. Only those with it can travel through the abyss. And they can't deny a summons no matter what.

The theory states that shank, when he went back to mariejoa, got branded with the tattoo too. So he would have been at the beck and call of the wg. But then, one day an opportunity arose. The legendary Lor D Coast challenged shank and supposedly shank made a conscious decision to get rid of his arm, which also got rid of the abyss tattoo. Finally making him free from wg control again.

What y'all think?

I think it's possible. After all, this basically redeems shank from the Lor D coast blunder completely. And ties into his wg connections and stuff too.

We know oda loves shank and loves making him look good. So I think this is totally possible.

It doesn't need all the convolution he bet his arm on Luffy, he already looks good.
