Since the parallels/benchmarks/similarities of a few characters were being discussed and some people had different interpretations or agendas, lets see how each current gen has got similarities/benchmarks/parallels to.
Luffy:
Shanks - The mid gen benchmark for Luffy who Luffy set out to surpass when he was a kid
Roger - The PK title holder, the one Luffy will surpass when he reaches LT
Joyboy - The second Nika that fought the WG from the Second World
Nika - The first Nika, the one that fought in the First World
Oden - Inherited Oden's will in Wano
Loki - The false Nika
BM - Ask @nik87
Rocks - I think we will get some similarities of Luffy with him too when more info is revealed about GV but BB is probably more comparable
Zoro:
Mihawk - The mid gen benchmark for Zoro who might be the overall benchmark too as WSS ever
Rayleigh - The RHM of the previous PK (the personalities are different, Zoro's personality is more like Roger as shown in 1139)
Ryuma - The ancestor of Zoro and a legend paralleled to JB
Oden - Inherited Oden's will/Enma in Wano
Loki - First interaction with Luffy resembles Zoros
Kaido - Ask @nik87
WB - Ask @HA001
Sanji:
Gaban - We just got this in chap 1139
Ivankov - Nothing much except being Sanjis mentor in fighting and cooking
Zeff - Sanjis father figure who would have been a solid char in prime (might get some info later in the story)
Warrior of Science - Maybe we get some old legend who helped JB or Nika in the past
Franky:
VP - Always looking up and sort of competing in terms of weaponry and chaotic inventions
Emeth - Emeths personality and relationship to JB make it seem like Emeth had a kids personality imo but giant ancient robot to new gen robot is pretty good parallel
Usopp:
Noland - The liar shit cant be more obvious, however, Noland was not actually a fraud imo
Yasopp - Father who he needs to surpass when SHPs overtake RHPs
Coby:
Garp - Student who will surpass the master
Sabo:
Dragon - New gen surpassing old gen, already his fame is making him become the face of the revolutions
Ace - Inheriting Aces will
Oden - Luffy:Roger, Ace:WB, Sabo:Oden (Oden wank in Wano was indeed very high)
Kid:
WB - Fans push this, and to some extent it was believable or he could have been the Rocks parallel, the chaotic/evil counter to Luffy
Law:
WB - Fans push this, idk about the similarities
