The hell, they had Kizaru literally fly through the mechanical sea beast at lightspeed (he never demonstrated he could do this) rather than simply shoot a laser through it like it was in the manga. TOEI already taking certain "creative liberties" 
I have more trust in @Elder Lee Hung threads than the anime clarfiying something not gonna lie

KIzaru and Admiral downplayers seem to forget what happened to Sabaody and how Kizaru and Kuma traumatised Luffy deeply and made him completely helpless, powerless, useless, as well as the rest of the crew too and that's part of the reason why Zoro was so much more serious and got angry at Luffy for goofing off at Punk Hazard too:
They couldn't do anything to Kizaru at all, he was unstoppable and didn't have a clear weakness to exploit like Crocodile despite both being Logias and they didn't have the likes of Yonko Commander/Warlord tier allies like Jinbei, Ivankov, Crocodile etc to protect them either, nor Gangster Galdino too.
Even at Egghead, most of the crew were still fodder for Kizaru as we saw, due to their lack of haki especially but also speed, strength and such. They don't truly understand how lucky they are to be alive and how much Kizaru has been holding back and could have easily killed them in a blink.
Just look at how he blitzed the supernovas and they didn't have time to react, never mind dodge, defend, parry or think what do in general:
I know I'm stating the obvious and well known, the same arguments echoed over and over for almost 20 years BUT it's sad we still have to make these arguments, to reiterate these damn points again for the delusional downplayers lmao.
Just like the whole "Kizaru feeding Luffy thing" which they tried to downplay for so long too.
