No way you think Haki is a simple power system.

It's horrible ans entirely plot driven.
its probably the simplest and easiest to understand one in all of shonen yeah. its inspired by Ki in Dragonball mostly in that its a very important power system that nobody ever really explains, except it has an actual structure and isnt just made up randomly on the fly like how Toriyama worked.

If you're a big dragonball reader you'll see the similarities. Ties to emotional state, lack of explanation, usually invisible but sometimes not, etc

Gunko not proceeding to take down half of the SH crew (even though she can) but decides to stick to the plan of kidnapping a fodder kid and just dip away. There we have the forced plot again

SH are always nigh invulnerable especially the weaker ones, not even Imu would touch them, nobody ever targets the main cast of the show..
That's the key to stakes killing moment. It's the side character (that we really never cares) that has always been the target for villains
Same formula over and over. That's the main diff between pre-skip and post skip
yeah, the threat level for them isn’t ever really serious. it does make everything feel less grave, especially since we know no one’s even gonna lose a limb lol
