You are mad because I have no interest in learning about the shameful amount of man hours it took to animate the worst crime against manga that I have ever seen in my life
This quote right here is the attitude of a philistine.
Expand your horizons.
Have some curiousity in your life so you can actually talk about this with some humility and knowledge as opposed to be an ignorant buffoon.
There are plenty of mouth-breathing idiots who defend the worst movie trilogy of all time actually lol. Nearly all of them cite the CGI work because they let sensory overload delude them into thinking that the thing they are looking at isn’t stupid as fuck, just like modern One Piss animation.
Did I deny that?
Am I saying it’s good because of CGI?
Noting that the CGI in some instances was impressive and innovative at the time while still believing the movies aren’t good at all are two opinions you can easily hold at the same time.
An episode of One Piece is more than just its animation. Things like, storyboarding, direction, sound design, vocal performances all play a part.
One Piece still has some really dog water sound design.
I think it’s better episodes strongly rely on other elements to carry it.
I don’t think this is the best paced or directed episode of the series or anything. I think that is a mix of the material being a bit weak and some of the added dialogue and gags not being particularly great. Those were mainly relegated to the first half of the episode, which I think was the weaker of the two, even if it did end strong on a very well put together action scene with Bonney.
The second half picks up with two really lengthy and very high octane action scenes with Zoro vs Lucci and Luffy vs Kizaru, before slowing down a bit for the rest of the episode.
Its a very well made episode, but it’s just not a particularly eventful episode.
