It would depend on how the cats fought, but I’m confident in saying that a large enough male lion would completely humiliate the majority of tigers.
Now it is time to explain in depth why lions are far superior fighters to tigers
@TheAncientCenturion @soupongo @Fujishiro @EmperorKinyagi @SakazOuki
So this is how tigers fight:
-They stand on their hind legs, and they swat at their opponents with their two front paws.
This is a very flawed fighting style. For one the tiger’s position is not secured, it is relatively easy for a cat that knows what it is doing to completely overpower the tiger and force it backwards since it is only supporting its weight on two legs. For two, the tiger really isn’t going to be dealing any huge damage with berating claw strikes. What the tiger is basically doing is dealing very light claw strike damage which will hurt sure, tigers are quite strong but the tiger isn’t taking advantage of its natural bulk and size in an efficient manner.
For comparison, this is how Lions fight:
-Lions fight utilizing their entire bodies. Go watch lions fighting in the wild and you will see them launching their entire bodies at each other, rolling around and attacking each other with all four limbs and their mouths simultaneously.
This is a far superior combat method. For one, lions attack with all for paws at once as opposed to the tiger’s only two paws. For two, the lion is also capable of utilizing biting attacks far more frequently than the tiger, and this is big because lion bites deal big big damage. The fact that Tigers deal 50PSI more bit damage than Lions is irrelevant because Tigers very rarely actually bite in combat, Tigers only bite when their opponent has been sufficiently wounded and it’s time to go for the throat. Lions bite constantly, inflicting huge maul damage and fucking up the opponent’s entire body. For three, fighting while grounded allows the lion to properly defend its whole body utilizing all of its paws at once. If you want to go for the lion’s head, you have to get through four clawed paws in addition to the lion’s own mouth. For four, fighting while grounded allows the lion to leverage its own brute strength in a far superior manner. Overpowering a tiger with brute force when tigers take a such a weak fighting stance is easy. Overpowering a grounded lion with four flared paws and teeth? Good luck lol.
So yeah tigers are slightly bigger than lions, but they fight like absolute garbage. You can see everything I am talking about in the video that
@moreha9685 posted.
Initially, the lion and tiger fight each other with standard berating claw swipes. The lion quickly realizes that the tiger is equal to or superior to the lion by fighting this way, so the lion goes to the ground. The Tiger then attacks the lion by charging with its unguarded face directly into the lion’s defensive posture. This works as well as you would expect, the lion rakes its hind claws across the tiger’s face and eyes. The tiger immediately retreats, and the lion bull-rushes the tiger. The tiger attempts to stop the lion’s bullrush by standing up in its weak stance, and the lion utilizes a brute strength grounded advance to fling the tiger ten feet backward in a relentless brute offense.
If this would have been a fight to the death, you would have seen a dead tiger. Oh and the lion did this as a female lion attacked his groin. Lol
