I had a black lab dachshund mix if you can even picture that lol. He was a good dog but not very friendly with strangers at all. This is when I was young.
What do you mean by crate trained? Like to be in a kennel when you are not home?
Cats will fuck off and not mess with you for large amounts of time. Dogs are like having a human child, you have to walk them and let them out and shit, cats you can really just leave them alone and they do their own thing.

Kind of like a kennel but bigger, dog breeders and youtube professional dog trainers said that I should Crate train him IE have him be inside the crate at night and sometimes during the day to basically eliminate risks of accidents (peeing ,etc inside the house) and destruction or property. Doggo will see the crate as his little room where I put toys and stuff inside.
Issue is as soon as I close the crate which needs to happens he goes crazy lol.

Yeah that’s part of crate training lol. He’ll get used to it, chances are he’s making a much bigger fuss because he knows he’ll get attention if he does. Try incentivizing him to get in with treats, and then reward him with treats once he calms down and he’ll get it soon enough. You just have to stay consistent and really be the boss with dogs. Dogs want to be your friend but they need to know that you are in charge. My dog had a ton of behavioral problems when he was young, and when we brought in a dog trainer, the trainer did more work with us than the dog lol. Once me and my parents understood that we were in charge, the dog’s behavior problems basically vanished lmfao. Dogs need to understand their place in the house to not go insane lol.
I try to have him go in with treats and give him food when hes chilling in the crate, in the past 3 days I got him he slept there one night. And then a few hours through the day but then hed wake up and start howling.

Be careful with that lol. My mom did similar shit with our dog, soon enough the dog was her boss and that’s where a lot of his behavioral problems sparked from. He isn’t whining because he’s being tortured, he’s whining because he’s trying to get a response lol.
