For real, Oda doesnt disrespect old legends like that. Compare Gaban to how old legends have been handled by Oda and you will see how dirty Gaban has been done by the standards. He could have at least kept Sommers out for a little linger and show him really struggling to get back. In terms of what was accomplished Gaban only was able to show that regen can be temporarily stopped and Chopper will learn how and tell others.
Take out a HK - He regens the very nexr chapter
Show ACoC and FS - But isnt fast enough to save his son
Surrenders and gets taken out by base Gunko
Broggy runs and grabs Imunko

It is not that the others are better/have better feats (Broggy being faster etc.), it is that Oda seemingly didnt care how it would reflect on Gaban. Of course we can theorize that Imunko loses access to Gunkos powers and her speed arrows and hence she got grabbed by Broggy or Imunko let herself get grabbed as it was her plan or shit.

its like they also purposely ignore all the demon references for the SHs, Sanji talking about hell and the devil multiple times, Shanks mentioning the sea devil and I think Robin said something similar before, she also turned into a demon/devil too, then theres Stussy, the Impel Down staff, a litera; demon king in Film Red, the freaking Goroseis demon forms etc.

It's not baseless though since DFs have been ''tied'' to science numerous times throughout the manga.
Lucci ''laughed'' at Jyabura for suggesting a ''devil'' was involved.
VP made multiple experiences to reproduce the effect and was even capable of doing it with Zoans.
So I don't agree on it being ''beyond silly''.
It's ''magic and demons'' until it can be reproduced by humans.

History does tend to repeat itself. The second world had equivalents of the characters represented there fighting Imu.

People kid themselves into thinking JB was the underdog when VP himself stated that the Ancient Kingdom was extremely mighty and likely way more technologically advanced than the other Kingdomgs, that and the allies he had.

Imu however tipped the scale likely with his Domi reversi ability turning some allies into enemies.

I fully think the 20 kingdoms werent aywhere close to advanced as the Ancient Kingdom (who likely inherited technology from the first world).

And Imu entity was sealed after the first world war as it lost then in the second world tempted the Nerona King into freeing him promising glory and riches. And once that happened he possessed the Nerona King and then went on to convince the other kingdoms to go fight the Ancient Kingdom with him.

Thus the second world war happened.

This third one however is the reverse, the WG is leading and the countries are subservient. We will see how that plays out.
