Controversial Best Manga/Anime Main Character Tournament

That doesn't stop a character from being an MC. In fact being the right hand of the protagonist basically guarantees an MC spot.

Being this exclusive to Zoro while saying "he isn't as important as Vegata" when Vegeta doesn't even appear in over 1/3 of Dragon Ball is real funny stuff.

You don't have an argument, you have a hate boner. Lol.
Tbh, why would Vegeta be here either? As you said, he isn't even in 1/3 of Dragon ball, and doesn't even become more relevant then like Gohan, until the Buu saga.

@ZenZu Ngl Law really does have more of a claim to being deuteragonist than Zoro does. Zoro has never been nearly as important to the plot as Luffy in any arc. The closest would be Thriller Bark ig. Even in Wano, the perfect arc for Zoro to shine, Luffy still received far more focus. Law was the lowkey MC of both PH and DR. I genuinely would not at all be surprised if Law has more panel time than Zoro if we’re looking at just post-TS

Well it looks like for this tournament, "main character" isn't a term being solely reserved for the protagonist. Looks like primary support characters (e.g. deuteragonist and tritagonist) are being included. :kayneshrug:

I mean I said I wouldn’t even include Vegeta or Sasuke either lol.

There’s a difference between being “a” main character and being “the” main character. I think the only type of characters who should be included here that aren’t the straight up protagonist of their story are characters like Killua and L, who were like 95% as important as Gon and Light, or Kurapika, who has been the MC of like a third of HxH.

Zoro just straight up has not been nearly as significant as Luffy for like 98% of the series. The only times where he was would be Whiskey Peak (not even 1% of the series) or maaaybe Thriller Bark

Acting like Sasuke isn’t more important to his story than L or Killua
Zoro is an afterthought compared to Sasuke
Sasuke literally ran the show and dictated every move done by the protagonist

Chunin exam - Sasuke being the Uchiha prodigy
Sasuke joins Orochimaru and leads his own squad of sound ninja
Sasuke retrieval arc
Sasuke killing Orochimaru and leading his hebi squad
Sasuke 1v1s an Akatsuki
Sasuke kills Itachi
Sasuke captures Killer B
Sasuke is recognized as the most dangerous rogue shinobi leading the kage to host a summit
Sasuke attacks the kage summit and defeats Danzo
Sasuke being all over the final war fighting besides Naruto
Sasuke given Rinnegan by sage
Sasuke decides to reform the world after the final war ends and fights Naruto

Naruto was a step behind every single arc, he chased after Sasuke all his life
Zoro, on the other hand, fights Luffy's scraps and gets a couple cool moments, he's a stooge no matter how you look at it

@Light D Lamperouge Wait who picked Punpun? Am I allowed to know that

Idk if you read/watched YYH but he let me nominate Hiei as a main character
So I assume Zoro, Sasuke and Vegeta count then

Add Naruto and Sasuke to the list.
Add one more.

I nominate Ryofui from Kingdom, basically a father figure to the main characters and one of the most recurring protagonists
:Ryo_Think:
Ain't he a villain or smth? We'll have one for villains specifically so cant include him here. Name another 3.

Sasuke is very important obviously, clearly more so than Zoro, but I don’t think you can put him quite on the same pedestal as L and Killua.

Killua was practically the co-main character along with Gon. He was right alongside Gon for all of the Hunter Exam, Heaven’s Arena, Yorknew, Greed Island, and the Chimera Ant arc, and then became the straight up MC for the Chairman Election arc (a fairly short arc, but still).

Sasuke was right alongside Naruto in the Land of Waves arc, the Chunin Exams, Sasuke Retrieval arc, and the final 50ish chapters of the War Arc (Sasuke only catched up to Naruto in relevance during the War Arc at the tail end of the Juubito fight). He did have brief sections in arcs where the story shifted to him (like vs Itachi and vs Killer Bee), and was actually more important in the Kage Summit arc (which was a fairly short arc iirc). Sasuke is a borderline case here tbh, but not as clear cut as Killua or L imo

L died halfway into the story lol
Killua and even the main character Gon haven’t appeared in the story for yeeeeears lol
Sasuke is more important in Naruto than Gon is in HxH
Everything was about Sasuke

But Killua was still tagging along on Gon's adventure, to find Gon's father. That's what drives their actions to some extent. Sasuke never cared about Naruto's goal to become Hokage, even contesting it at the end.

Sasuke has his own goal that drives him, to the extent that he even told Naruto to fuck off. The goal changes several times, but it goes from him wanting to kill a criminal, to wanting to become a major terrorist, to wanting to literally rule the world
