I suspect we need to start preparing for the revelation (retcon cough cough) that CoC isn't really genetic, but that genetics just heavily influence the capacity of an individual to tap into their inner CoC, which technically everyone has. I think nu-Star-Wars has been retconning something similar, with the Force being something anyone can tap into to some extent, it is just made much easier or much harder depending on your medichlorian count or whatever.
