Imu the same, or you could have Law attempt to give Luffy eternal youth so his heart wouldn’t need a restart. That’s just the top of my head, you can come up with 100 things to make it work

Honestly? I always been believing that in his mind these are just cool effects instead of something mandatory. Even before COC coating Oda was something drawing thick black lines when he wanted go make a hit looks stronger. Following chapter had more pages dedicated to Gaban styling on Sommers so he could draw the cool effects

So pretty much the only fucking way to know if a type of haki is being used is if the characters themselves ot someone else says it...
