Oh yeah I would say too but they act like OP is absolutely untouchable and incomparable. It was so funny when I saw AOT and Demon Slayer both overtake OP in sales for a short while, I think even MHA did at one point.

I would much rather read OP than GOT or the Bible anyday lol. Seeing the downfall of GOT with season 8 despite not following the series was hilarious though, I knew it would happen. Everything that gets pedestalised becomes an Icarus effect, the higher you soar, the bigger you are, the harder you will fall. The bigger the balloon, the more swollen it is and thus the ego, the more fragile and prone to bursting or something like that.

One Piece is a fantastic story and theres a TON I love about it but my god its so heavily flawed especially the past few arcs and post TS.

For me it jumped the Jinbei already with the whole Rescue Ace saga and especially Marineford and Sabaody but I know thats a HOT take lol. Especially when OP PEAKED in popularity around then too. Hype was never higher until that point. And probably never again until Wano possibly? Ironically despite using Jinbei for the jump the shark joke there, I actually loved Jinbei in those few arcs up to WCI. Who knew him joining the crew after 10 years of waiting IRL would be the worst thing to happen to him and for us too ironically lmfao. Still love that hes on the crew ofc but man, its hard to watch.

I mean.....it is....its by no stretch the best story ever told especially when a lot of it is retellings and inspired by old stories, but its definitely better story than GOT and The Bible

Tbh it's still one of the more boring newgen animes to me. I don't mind it but I'm far more impressed by Chainsaw Man, for example.
Also Gachiakuta seems nice

These newer series simply aren't long enough to start falling off so the glaze is understandable (even though it's unjustified, especially comparing to series with far longer runs).

Naruto was getting shit on the minute it would fumble. Everywhere you looked, including Naruto fans themselves, they were admitting the show was a meme.

And Bleach fans were always chill about the series faults, cause it started fumbling quite early relative to the other 2.
