The admiral was obviously mentally fatigued from all the hours he was working, on top of his divorce he and his wife were going through. It was a miracle he even put on his uniform that day.

The fact that Oda is feeding an Admiral to beef up Rocks resume means he's going all in on hyping him. He's never done that before for any pirate, only Akainu has a top tier defeat under his belt. Only thing in question is how it was done, could be a murder like Thatch, or a fight.

I want to welcome Rocks to the very exclusive 1 man club of having defeated a top tier 1v1 but the jury is still out on that. We thought Kaidou defeating Oden was a solid feat until it wasn't. We also thought Admirals fought Sabo in the holyland when he didn't. Often times these legendary feats are gassed and the reality is a lot more disappointing. Still for an Admiral to be murdered even if done on skewed terms is a big deal, Rocks is shaping up to be who we thought Roger was.
