Just based off the Roger vs Garp clash and how inferior it is compared to the Roger vs WB one in the Oden flashback, it’s very clear that these guys aren’t in their primes yet and still clearly getting stronger.

Rocks is older, more experienced and seems to be a lot stronger. I think God Valley will be where Garp/Roger will truly reach the top tier level kinda similar to how Luffy did on Onigashima. Their fame and also their power will bloom massively after GV.

this era is WAY BETTER than the present

Rocks have great chara-designs. And their lore is based on present event era. Also the pacing is obviously better than a thousand chapter.

We did get some motion in the plot with the latter half of the chapter, via Rocks' revelation about needing 2 fruits and the Galley-la giants.

Yes there is these enigmatic DFs. And Galley la giants made me think about the Water Seven shipwrights. I wonder if it’s related in any form. But I feel like they were already mentioned sooner and compared to the giants frozen by Kuzan. Which would be anachronic I guess…
