Roger is sitting on the bow of the ship fishing and catches a massive sea king which he pulls onto the deck of the ship, Rayleigh seeing the sea king about to land on him and the crewmates on the deck, takes out his sword and slices the sea king into chunks. Rayleigh chastises Roger for being so careless, but Gaban (who hears the commotion) comes out and says that it should make a fine addition to the stew they’re making. We find out that the Roger Pirates have no cook, and Gaban just chucks everything into a massive cauldron to make some form of a stew. The narrator reveals that due to their infamy no cook has ever wanted to join their crew, much to chagrin of Roger who has attempted to use Davy Back fights to get a rival crew’s cook.
As the crew is preparing to eat the stew, Roger asks Rayleigh why he is so engrossed in the newspaper. Rayleigh reveals that since Xebec took over Hachinosu the World Government have kept increasing his bounty. Rayleigh reads and we get a shot of Xebec’s wanted poster:- “The Storm’s Eye”Rocks D. Xebec - Bounty : 5.0 Billion Berries
Roger, Gaban and the rest of the crew are shocked. Rayleigh continues that since he was first given a bounty of 2.6 Billion Berries for killing Admiral Hanzo the Scarlet Wolf at the Reverie the marines and world government have sent numerous agents against him only to find their bodies sent back in crates shipped straight to Marine Headquarters. The latest news says that a Buster Call was conducted on Hachinosu under the leadership of Vice Admiral Garp and Vice Admiral Sengoku, including 5000 seasoned Marine Officers. After a week of no contact, the former two, were found hanging onto driftwood from their obliterated ships after washing ashore, with both in critical condition. As soon as Roger heard that Garp was wounded, he hones in with a shocked expression. Gaban tells him that Xebec’s followers are also formidable, especially the ‘Four Horsemen’ who are said to be his most powerful subordinates: Edward Newgate, bounty 3.876 Billion Berries; Shiki, Bounty: 3.320 Billion Berries, Silver Axe - 2.952 Billion Berries and Charlotte Linlin - 2.864 Billion Berries. In addition, there are reports that Xebec has found and eaten a rare fruit that allows him to nullify fruit users.
Rover grinning tells Gaban to chart a course for Hachinosu. Rayleigh tells him to really think about it saying there’s no way that they can take on Xebec on his home turf. Roger ignores him and tells Gaban, to find the nearest and quickest route to Hachinosu, Gaban with a resigned look to Rayleigh and then to Roger, heads back to his table.
The final page is a doublespread which shows Roger grinning gleefully on the deck looking at the dark clouds above the horizon. We see Rayleigh furiously sharpening his sword, as the rest of the crew scurry around frantically.
Chapter Ends on a final panel with Xebec grinning gleefully, with the words “Seems there’s a storm over the horizon!”
