General & Others Is One Piece back?

#1
After the for me overall lackluster Yonko saga with WCI and Wano (with a welcome break featuring the Reverie) I took a break from One Piece.
Recently I caught up by reading Egghead in one go (I was spoiled regarding Vegapunk´s message though and read that) and also from Elbaf.
To be honest, I was not this excited for One Piece since the timeskip.
It seems like we are going into the final saga now and everything has been put in place while Egghead already answered a lot of questions and had a lot of lore.
So for me, One Piece is really back. Obviously I don´t know how long that feeling will last...
So, do you feel the same way? Did Egghead arc and the beginning of Elbaf arc bring the nostalgic enjoyment back?
I would be interested to know.

it kinda coulda been if oda didn't fumble Rocks so fucking bad.

Making one of the most hyped up character and basically all his henchmen who were also legends, into a fucking gaggle of simps is certainly a choice.

And then fucking making the most hyped up incident in op be about said simping is also another choice.
How did he fumble Rocks:lawsigh:
Do you think real life pirates were celibates?😂😂

One piece is a masterpiece, every arc is enjoyable and important. I've been following OP for 25 years and it's only a recent thing that fans have this negativity about everything... I guess the whole world has changed, everyone is channeling their frustrations and aren't able to simply enjoy the ride. People used to be less aggressive against a simple Shonen Manga... Being angry because your headcanon isn't canon doesn't make you look cooler

Definitely not, I’ve never seen less people interested in One Piece than the Elbaph arc up until Gaban was revealed to be a badass.
Just in this forum or generally?

Egghead is the worst arc post TS imo. The only difference is that you read it all in one go.

It's the pacing that is bad. Both the story and the number of chapters we have per year now.

Elbaf is good so far.
Ok but that has been a general problem of One Piece since Skypeia if you read it weekly, though it is probably elevated now due to additional breaks.
With Egghead I would still not miss or remove anything though or do you feel differently?

It's not back, but it's definitely an improvement over the Yonkou saga. Yonkou saga made a lot of people quit because it was a lot of empty hype, it'll take time to get back to that lvl of hype.
Ok understandable. I never bought too much into their hype being silver medalists and all, so maybe at least this aspect did not hit me as much.

Is it already established that God Valley happened because of Shakky?

It just shows that people have different taste. For me Egghead was probably the worst OP's arc that I have read.

I think the level is consistent post TS, not as good as pre TS but still good enough to keep people invested in the story with the exception of Egghead for me ( but I saw a lot of people enjoying it).

Clearly agree with you.
After the wano disaster the arcs keep getting better. Egghead would be better if Oda build up more tension and danger situation for the strawhats and cut off all Gorosei and made it only Saturn and Kizaru fight, but in the end it was still good.

The pacing was good until the endphase of the arc, I like the switch of the situation where we saw beside egghead events like:
- Garp vs Kuzan and Teach pirates
- Law vs Teach
- Kid vs Shanks
- Reverie arc

And the egghead part was also good.
As I said I would rather build more tension for Kizaru and Saturn, make Saturn looking like a serious threat. Not adding the other Gorosei...

In the end Egghead is a 7.5 for me, a good arc which could be far better but still.
Elbaf so was is peak for me, the beginning, the giants, Gaban, Harald/Loki flashback. So far alsi lore hit very well too. Let see the end of Elbaf to judge where Oda is moving with the plot. If everything fits well, Elbaf could end with a 9-10 for me.
