He´s fighting Teach, which has been the buildup for 20 years, even this arc is focusing on Shanks and Teach´s families and gave big reveals for both of them, most likely because they´re about to meet soon.

Shanks vs BB will be set in stone if Garling fights Rocks and is the one that killed him.
