Destroying the environment doesn't mean shit mate. Kid's awakened super cannon could destroy a couple warships instantly. He's still a casual oneshot away from some Shanks.

Nah, I think Oda's intention in this chapter was to emphasize that even though Garling doesn't have red hair like Shanks and Shamrock, they could easily still be his children, because they inherited their red hair from their mother. The same way Ace's freckles came from his mother, not Roger's, and Usopp's nose also came from his mother.

And there's no denying the resemblance between young Garling and Shanks.

Now, if the mother had been revealed not to have red hair, we'd have a serious argument.

That's not the issue. My issue is they not living g in Mariejoia.

Its wild that next chapter might only end with God Valley starting. We are still a year out and evidently whatever event with Shakky and whoever is betraying Rocks' crew needs to happen first.

Roger only goes to GV because of this. Separately Rocks seems to find out about whatever Garling found because of Whitebeards comments from Kuma's flashback, so we'll see how that happens.

Im not expecting the actual event now until 1160 or 1161

The reason why Roger went to God Valley should be Shakky, also the same reason why he went to Shakky's bar, is to get steal Shakky from Rocks.

1160 is good number for Rocks to end his era with a blast.
