Honestly I do actually see Oda doing this, I've had suspicions of it happening since we got spoilers for last chapter and I'm I'm not the only one thinking it could be a possibility:
Would be a unique tragedy that really adds depth to Shanks and create a real schism between him and Shamrock as individuals/characters based on their beliefs/personalities or maybe they both secretly seek revenge on Garling too? I can see Garling being sadistic/sick enough to kill off their mother and it would be a perfect way to cover up that he had kids with a slave/civilian or w/e too.
I would really root for Shanks to get revenge and kill Garling if this was true too.
Oda loves killing off so many mothers after all. Waiting for the inevitable Nami's mother death reveal.

- the next chapter has a controversial cliffhanger
- a new movie is in the works for next year
- the working title is One Piece Film: Red 2
- Oda is working on focusing on Shanks before the movie airs next year

I dont really understand what you mean by this part? I have seen this theory of Garling "hiding" the fact he slept with a commoner / blue sea dweller before and like... how would that even make sense?
There cant be millions of Celestial Dragons up in the Holy Land. If Garling has no wife / girlfriend that would lie for him and pretend to be pregnant, it would fall apart the second any Dragon wonders "wait, who the hell did Figardland fuck to produce his twins? He has no Celestial partner I know about" sooner rather than later.
Plus, its not like Oda has ever even implied its a social taboo for Celestia Dragons to produce kids with lower realm people. Charlos had 13 Wives minimum, and one of them Marie we see getting taken during Sabaody is explicitly just a random nurse. Again, not "sex slave" or random pet or anything, he explicitly says he wants to make her WIFE number 13.
Sure, Gods Knights I guess could be even more selective in their hatred of "inferior" people but, like, as far we know he literally just planed to take his kids mom with him to the Holy Land. He clearly raised at least Shamrock as his own so its not like his hatred of inferior blood can be THAT bad.
Can still potentially have some revenge plot with Shanks or even Shamrock but as far as we know I just question the idea that Garling was deeply ashamed of Shanks and Shamrocks mom and killed her in secret to avoid it becoming public he slept with her.
