Seeing Dragon do stuff in the flashback means we're going to see him fighting in the present very soon.
I'm still hurting from when we thought he'd do something on Egghead throughout the whole arc and he did nothing but stare east and drink tea

There really was no reason why Oda couldn't have a disposable Vice Admiral be Dragon's hype tool years ago.
Vice Admiral hype is in the gutter now. Only Admiral candidates or actual Admirals matter as hype tools for the true big shots.

Marines, Cipher Pol #8, whatever. Point is, Dragon should have been seen in action at least before or after Wano or something.

Dragon is that typical character whose significant achievements are mere rumors, but when he takes action, the author makes a point of elevating him above everything we've ever seen... especially in terms of power.

Anyway, I hope this chapter addresses Dragon's reasons for feeling "repulsed" by the navy and deserting to become a revolutionary. Perhaps he saw the people of God Valley being preyed upon and treated as prey for the diabolical games of the celestial dragons or something like that.

Completely agree man. Tragedies like this can define the tone and world building of a series so much, it can really ground in reality for those oblivious to it.
As much as it breaks my heart to see Moria suffer like this, at the same time, his perserverance to never give up and keep trying, to adapt is extremely inspiring. He stayed true to himself and I think like many others who gave up on their dreams/ambitions, they are feeling resurged by encountering, fighting and being defeated by Luffy.
As much as he's defeating them and "ruining their ambitions", he's ironically saving them at the same time and realigning them to their true ambitions and selves. Like reginiting a long lost, extinguished flame or something like that, a phoenix rising from the ashes. How fitting for a Sun God lol.

Also on a certain other note relating to deep tragedy too....

:risitasad::peperain::pepemotion::pepemy::perocry:

I'm adamant we're gonna get Garling hunting down Shanks' mother during the slave hunt or she will die to someone else at least during it. But more likely Garling for maximum narrative sadism and thus tragedy from Oda.

One more hint from Redon btw:

Garling is the biggest scum we will have the displeasure of meeting in One Piece... I have no doubt that this character was made to be the "archetype" of the despicable character.

Every normal person feels repulsed upon even so much as seeing saint Charlos

Bounties FINALLY ?!?!?

:shocked::choppawhat::funky::steef::shocking:

Its name referencing criminal activity of historical times and southern hemisphere themed most prominent ingredient consolidates its identity as a colonial product.

Truly a snack made for villains, CDs and native hunting tournament fans.:steef:

Seriously speaking, outside of Xebec I don't have the slightest "hope" of getting the Rocks bounties.
Oda does the least he can, and we still don't have the bounties of Roger pirates and almost all WB pirates.

You can imagine for Rocks, people of which we already know the final bounties, so Oda should work on some "in the middle bounty" for them while we don't even have Ray's, Gaban's, etc.
