Shanks and BB were both from God Valley.

BB is a major reason Ace died. Thats Rogers son.
BB destroyed Baltigo. Dragon.
BB has Garp captured.
BB has killed Whitebeard.
BB scarred Shanks.
BB also went after Boa who seems to have a connection to Shakky and Rayleigh.
And of course, his father is Rocks.

It almost feels like a revenge plot with BB and Shanks going his way in life completely opposite of him.

It's classic celebrity bias. Boa may be the most beautiful women amongst the celebrities of the world, but there can be more beautiful women out there drowned in obscurity, like Ripley.

But Luffy feels like the most fitting to be both part CD and a D. ofc. Oda needs to mimic what Kubo and Kishi did with their MCs after all ofc. The Jack of All Legacies MCs.

Aye, the Uncle Sam comparison is perfect. Garp is an even better version of their Sora comics ofc and far more recent and "real" naturally and ironically.
