I think Luffy was always goofy in fight ( water Luffy, retard luffy vs Enel ) but he also got humbled after that.
Main issue I get from this isn’t the absurd stuff from Gear 5 but the fact that Luffy hasn’t lost since Kaido "killed him" technically. Which is just 2 arcs ago but that’s also like 4 years ago, so not losing for 4 years of runtime is a bit crazy.
This is why I hope Imu cooks his ass cause if Imu is turned into a bum by gear 5 then we'll need to talk about Oda lol (we needed to talk when he sent Mars back to Mariejoie with a single punch tbf).

Exactly this too. Oda purposely avoids him facing Shanks and Blackbeard for this reason too. Making a 2nd Nika using Bommey was gasoline to the fire and insult to injury.
Luffy was extremely well emotionally balanced and mature pre TS and he has his moments post TS but I swear he's got brain damage like his idolo Shanks after all those thunder baguas he ate from Kaido and such.
He's far too exaggerated and overpowered now, like any toon force/4th wall breaking characters but the reliance on Oda to recycle time limits on his powers is also annoying.
Awakened Luffy was the one thing I wanted to see most now I regret it ironically lol. Luffy was much better off with a rubber fruit only and the resin logia was a much better idea especially since Luffys ethnicity would be Brazilian if he were real and thus rubber trees in Brazil and such ofc. Even better they come from the Amazon rainforest and Luffy has the Amazon Queen in love with him all, his powers are snake-like and he has Snakeman and the Kuja Amazons have their snakes and snake themes ofc.
Post Nika Luffy is such narcissistic writing, completely opposite from humility and thats the real issue too.

I've seen the episode when Zoro defeated Lucci and I completely agree with @ZenZu.
The first few minutes of that fight were alright, a bit too much aura stuff but it's alright. However, everything else afterwards? What disgusting DBZ aura BS did Toei think about when their animator animated this part? It completely butchered a nice scene from the manga. Lucci was completely engulfed in aura like he was using his Super Saiyan mode lol.
