Imo the Gura Gura has to be awakened and BB stole it whilst it was still awakened or he awakened it again himself somehow. Saturn was able to take the essence of a DF and give it to Bonney without her eating a fruit, Blackbeard probably did something similar with the Yami Yami and relates to his strange body being able to eat more than 1 fruit ofc. I still prefer the idea of Blackbeard storing DFs in his rings, kinda like the infinity stones in the gauntlet or Mandarin's 10 rings but this is great too.
